Isola Residences

Isola is a 52-storey private residential tower in Kuala Lumpur City Centre that demonstrates a measured response to high-density urban living. Derived from the Italian word for island, the project is composed a cluster of five varying height slender residential pins, allowing each unit to occupy an entire floor. The fragmented massing is oriented to preserve key view corridors and mitigate visual obstruction from neighbouring developments. Facade articulation is modulated through two unit variations: vertical lines generated by shifting window positions, and horizontal precast concrete bands expressing differences in unit type.

The fragmented massing is oriented to preserve key view corridors and mitigate visual obstruction from neighbouring developments. By distributing the overall volume into multiple vertical elements, the project achieves a more legible spatial organisation on a compact urban plot. Facade articulation is modulated through two unit variations: vertical lines generated by shifting window positions, and horizontal precast concrete bands expressing differences in unit type. Each residential pin opens to form a 'C' shaped configuration that frames a wide urban void, described as building's eye. Service floors are articulated as intentional architectural breaks within each towers for long-term performance.
