The project is conceived as an urban oasis above the retail mall, creating a series of unique experiences that rise above the surrounding city. While parks are traditionally grounded landscapes, this elevated park offers a refreshing retreat within an urban setting. TRX City Park, located at Bandar Tun Razak Exchange (TRX), is a key destination and landmark in Kuala Lumpur. Positioned at the heart of the TRX financial district, it provides over 10 acres of public open space, making it the largest rooftop public park in Southeast Asia and one of the few of its kind globally.
The park is designed to create interest and foster meaningful engagement with users, encouraging active participation through a diverse range of play and adventure spaces integrated with food and beverage experiences, retail offerings, and events of varying scales, all within a smart and secure environment.TRX City Park is a dynamic and inclusive public space that reflects the multicultural character of Kuala Lumpur and accommodates a wide spectrum of users. The strong and direct connections between the park and adjacent retail areas including the Central Exchange, food terrace, events lawn, and urban forest facilitate seamless movement and create a series of layered experiences unique to this destination.Despite the complexity of its design and programming, the park maintains a sense of cohesion and comfort.Visitors are invited to explore, relax, and engage with both the green landscape and the vibrant retail and event offerings, reinforcing the park’s role as a key urban destination.
Responding to its urban context, the project integrates enhanced pedestrian connectivity, climate-responsive landscape strategies, and an innovative rooftop park typology. These interventions elevate the commercial development beyond its program, transforming it into a vibrant and inclusive public realm within Kuala Lumpur’s dense financial district.
