Look@118 is a civic lookout and visitor destination at the end of Merdeka Boulevard within the Merdeka 118 masterplan. It forms the first arrival point from Jalan Maharajalela and the monorail, where an elevated public plaza leads toward the boulevard. The building is organised across four levels: Level B1 for management, Level 1 as a gallery, Levels 2 and 2M for F&B and retail, and Level 3 as a rooftop observation deck. Perforated cladding facing Jalan Maharajalela forms the silhouette of Tunku Abdul Rahman, symbolically linking the building to Stadium Merdeka where the 1957 Independence declaration was proclaimed.
Look@118 is conceived as a pavilion with the civic simplicity marking the end of the Merdeka Boulevard — a place of arrival, pause, and looking out. The building is formed as a tilted glass box, aligned with the gesture of the Merdeka 118 tower, establishing an extended visual relationship across the precinct. Its transparent architecture reflects the main tower while allowing the public realm to remain visually continuous, preserving openness and long sightlines through the site. A rhythm of white columns recalls the civic order of the Parthenon on the Acropolis, giving the pavilion a sense of dignity without monumentality. The glass volume is gently held by a solid GFRC wall, a reminder that lightness is born from intention and memory. Fundamentally, Look@118 is not an object building, but a carefully placed frame — an unassuming structure that gives presence to the city, the landscape, and the memory of place.
This building is a look out pavilion design to view the tower of PNB 118 at its most significant full tower view. It forms a tourist attraction for photography session while connecting the monorail station at the back with the linear landscape park toward the PNB 118 entrance.
